SUMMER CAMPS @DISCOVERY NORTH BAY
Open to ages 6-12, we will be offering programs on a full day basis. Each day, participants will explore two different topics through tours, crafts and hands-on activities. Book one, two, three, four days or the entire week. Programs will run from 9am to 4:00 pm. There is a world of possibilities this summer at Discovery North Bay!
Cost
Full Week: $150 for Members, $170 for non-Members. Book two children for a full week, and your second child will receive 3o% off!
Per Day: $45 for Members, $50 for non-Members
Camp Overview
MONDAY: Enjoy a day of transportation history and investigate the importance boating has had on our history in Sail Away. We will make our own boats that will compete in a boating race. An afternoon filled with railway history will have campers making their own trains!
TUESDAY: Here's a chance for campers to learn about entertainment as we take a look at important North Bay entertainment industries. The morning will be spent touring North Bay's Capitol Centre. The afternoon will have participants exploring Northern Ontario media!
WEDNESDAY: Exploring some of the more unique buildings in North Bay in Amazing Architects, participants will learn more about our built heritage and recreate one of the historic buildings found in our community. The afternoon we will explore another time and place by discovering the excitement of the Middle Ages - Medieval Times! Participants will explore the history of the Middle Ages, and enjoy a wholesome Medieval feast!
THURSDAY: Here's a chance for all participants to learn about the importance of communication and literature. "You've Got Mail" will include a tour of the Post Office and will be complemented with participants playing an exciting postal game. The afternoon will include "Pagemasters": a tour of the Library to learn about the excitement and importance of children's literature.
FRIDAY: "Round and Round We Will Go" as we learn more about the carousel, a favourite ride of both young and old. This morning's adventure will include a ride on the carousel. One of the best parts of summer are all of the plants and flowers that bloom. "Summer Blooms" will have participants learning more about the importance plant life has on our own lives with a special guest from the Heritage Gardeners.
All summer camp programs are staff supervised events.
